Blenderhouse released vistarpc4r, a Ruby gem, that enables Ruby developers to integrate with VistA (Veteran's Administration electronic health record system that it released to the public) through RPC-style API calls. The vistarpc4 gem was developed to support our own work developing our product CompleteNote, a clinical decision support and documentation application. This gem is free to download and use. The first six companies that will receive funding and mentoring at a Pittsburgh incubator for Web and software-related firms were identified Wednesday.

The companies to take part in the AlphaLab program are BlenderHouse, Chogger, crono, GameHuddle, Skill-Life, and Sonya Labs, according to Innovation Works, which launched AlphaLab in February.
